I'm going to spend tonight at Kimberley Locke's house, and think about if I want to go home to Chicago for a couple days. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna come back to LA. John, thanks for your offer, too; I think it would be good for me to not be alone tonight, and Kimberely's been exactly there, but your kindness means a lot to me.
I'm still pretty much in shock, but I wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for your hugs and love and support, not just those of you I know personally but everyone who is an American Idol fan, including people who were fans the first two seasons, because without you all, there wouldn't have been this season.
I want to thank a bunch of people, because I sure didn't make it this far on my own. My family has always been supportive and wonderful. All the producers and staff associated with AI for giving us such great exposure and helping us do our best every week. Our voice coach, who helped me get rid of "gospel jaw" and our musicians. The wardrobe, hair, and makeup people for helping me look good. The chef at the mansion for making healthy food that was still yummy so I wouldn't gain back all the weight I lost before Idol. Ryan for helping us stay focused and not be so nervous on the air. Guest judges, especially Sir Elton, Quentin, and Barry for the coaching and encouragement you gave all of us, and Barry for letting us perform with such a star. Simon, Randy, and Paula, for sending me to Hollywood in the first place, for all the constructive criticism and encouragement every week, for inviting me to the wild card show and then putting me in the finals. Everyone who came to our shows and supported us, like Mila and John and RuPaul and Dom and Billy and most especially Jack (Happy Birthday!) thank you for the great signs and all the yelling and applauding you did for me. I wish I'd gone to the basketball game with you guys. Maybe sometime we can all go to a baseball game together. Previous Idols for all your advice and support, especially Julia, Caldwell, Locke, and my homeboy Clay. All the other folks here on LJ who gave me advice and encouragement and comments and friendship and votes. If I forgot anybody it's not that you aren't important to me, it's just that my head isn't working very well right now.
And my fellow Season 3 Idols. Wow. You all are my second family. Everyone I met in all the rounds, especially my Group 1 homies and the other Wild Cards. And Leah and Matt and Amy and Camile and Jon Peter you know how much fun I had with each of you and missed you all when you left. John, I asked Fantasia to make sure to get some teasing in on you so you don't miss me too much. I admire your quiet classiness and I hope you'll make a Rat Pack CD. Jasmine, you are the sweetest thing, thank for helping me keep calm when I got mad sometimes. Put some of your hair in the bathroom sink so you girls don't miss me too much. Diana, my other Group 1 homie, you crack me up. Don't stop smiling and being sweet and cute, no matter what Simon or anyone else says. LaToya, you are class and serenity personified, thanks for being kind of a big sister and helping me keep it real. George, my smilin bro, you'll have to be the 3rd Diva now ;) Your love and joy for everything helps me see things in a better light. Tasia Tasia Tasia! I love you too, girl. Thanks for teaching me how to bring it, how to show my personality, and how to not care so much what other people think as long as I think I did well. I'm gonna miss all you guys so so so much!
Thanks to all the AI fans for making our show happen, and to my fans who voted for me, supported me, stuck up for me on message boards, cheered and made signs for me and everything. Without fans, we'd have no audience to sing to, so you are the most important of all.
