PERFECT proposal

Skye got engaged last week. The proposal probably wasn't what I would be looking for, but she seemed really pumped about it. My ex-husband proposed in an unusual way.

We were living together, and we had accumulated a lot of stuffed animals. I came home one Tuesday after work, and this big teddy bear was sitting in the middle of the entry, with a sign pointing to the kitchen. So I walked through the kitchen, and there was another bear holding a sign that said "Will you..." and then there was an arrow pointing to the living room. I turned to look at the living, and all of the furniture had been pushed to one side, and on the floor of the living room were all of our stuffed animals spelling out "Marry me?"

I started to cry, and he rushed in. He was late coming home from work because he'd spent all morning setting up the stuffed animals. :-) He then proposed in person (on one knee) and I said yes.

It was funny, because I'd known he'd been getting close to proposing for the past couple weeks, but he didn't propose on Christmas, or my birthday, and we'd gone to our favorite place-- Santa Cruz -- and he didn't propose, so I thought maybe he'd changed his mind. He hadn't. He just wanted to do it his own way. And he did. :-)
