I decided to measure Emma today. When she turned one, she was 11 1/2 inches tall. She looks taller lately... so I thought, hrm... She's 13 1/2 inches tall!!!!!!!!!! She's grown two inches since her first birthday. Weird dog...

Tips for racing? I've never tried it, but it looks like a blast! Have you been to terrier.com? They have LOTS of tips and info, and a nice chat room.

Well, I am going to try and register him with the JRTCA (www.JRTCA.com..or you can google it) . I'll check out the chat room. Thanks!

Well, if you have had him neutered, or plan on it, just record him. It's less expensive, and it's like a limited registry. He can still participate in all of the fun stuff at terrier trials.

Ok. So if he isnt registerd with the JRTCA he can still participate in the events? He isnt neutered. I dont' belive im gonna either. I may wait until he is a yr old to see how he turns out. Who knows...

Neutering is SO much healthier for your little guy, and it keeps them from developing behaviors like marking and roaming... Plus, there are THOUSANDS of homeless JRT. It's really better to have them fixed. They're nicer pets, less stressed, and live longer lives.

Yes, unregistered dogs can participate in JRTCA trials. Recorded dogs can even participate in Nationals. My lil girl is spayed, but she can participate in anything I allow. My Dachshund can even go to some trials!

Oh ok. I see. I think the only reason i was going to wait is to breed him. But im not sure. I may go ahead and get him fixed. You cant see the pictures i posted in the community??

Nope, they're not showing up at all. Why do you want to breed him?

Just wanted to say, I got some beef heats and neck bones...Ace LOVED the hearts...seriously...he engulfed what I gave him and ginty lol...he ate much more than I think he should've lol...he sorta walked a bit weird after it and had to lay down lol, but poor ginny wouldn't eat after that...he gets so frustrated when ace takes all his food...so I am going to try feeding them seperately...they eat kibble together just fine, but not "treats" aka good stuff lol.

Ace was so full after that he couldn't eat a bone...ginny started to and then ace came back over so he just gave up and sat in a corner looking upset.

But anyways, thanks for the suggestion of hearts, I put the rest in the fridge, will give them more tonight and then freeze it...thats okay right?

Yeah, I'm always chopping stuff and freezing it in ziplock baggies. I just take out what I need for the next couple of days. I'm glad Ace liked the hearts. They're a favorite, here. I usually keep cubed hearts in the fridge and use them for treats. It's disgusting to have blood on my hands after feeding the dogs a treat, but they love it, and it's super healthy.

I forgot ziplocks, like a moron...lol..so I guess I will freeze tommorow after going to the store...again.

I got the already chopped up beef hearts, I figured that would be easier, yes I am that lazy lol...it cost the same amount so why not right?

I have never seen ace eat so fast in my life...lol.

The blood wasnt too bad, I think because they were chopped before, that and he ate it so quickly.

The bones weren't so much of a hit, then again the bone eater was discouraged.

I asked about soup bones, they said they would get some in for me, that they usually have some but they didn't then...so we will see what the gintmeister can do to one!

Mine were chopped in big ol hunks. I wish they had some diced up small. They were a major pain to deal with. Really bloody, and tough.

I have to feed special stuff like that in crates, if I set down a bowl of it. Mine are bad bad dogs. Of course, if anything is well-loved, I usually use it for training and hand feed it. They get a good chew bone when they need to be in their crates and I'm home (like when I'm making dog food or when we have company or something).
