On Sunday, Chelsey and I went to see the ruins of Hachioji Castle, which is supposed to be haunted. We met around four (figuring going close to dusk would up the creepiness factor) and got on a bus (we got the right one on the first try! Go us!) and walked for about fifteen minutes to get to the castle. We were moving slow because I was crabby and we stopped to admire a temple and get me some sugar. I'm mean when I haven't eaten, apparently.
When we got to the castle, we wandered down the path, taking pictures along the way. The ruins are uphill, so there was a lot of moaning and groaning as we hiked around. It was really cool once we got to the top - part of the reason the castle is hard to get to is, well, back in the day they wanted that, it makes it easier to defend. Once we got to the top, it was easy to imagine what it must have looked like back in the day - I'd actually like to go back on a less hazy day when the light is better and get better pictures.
I uploaded a bunch of pictures from the day to my flickr account - go check 'em out. I'm also working on the project of uploading more stuff from the last year. Good times!
After we hoofed it down from the ruins, we explored along the path for a while, but eventually I had to insist we turn back because my foot was aching. We then went to Kichijoji, where we got pizza and did a little shopping (I got a cute lunch box), then I headed home where I cleaned my disgusting kitchen and CRASHED.
Today I did responsible things, like mail important documents and return library books and go to the doctor. The foot is still partially broken, although more healed than last time. The doctor told me I don't have to come back anymore unless I have pain unrelated to using it, but I'm not allowed to run till November. Basically, he told me to be careful about putting stress on it. So I will. SIGH. Why did I have to break a bone that I use all the time?
