My life and all its happenings

All the interesting happenings in my life...
So I feel that I should make a more conscious effort to update this here (we)b-log...maybe I'll go for weekly updating like some of my fellow bloggers do.

Anyway, here's what's happened in my life in the past 3 weeks:

Justin & Amy (Rogers) Howard's beautifully amazing wedding weekend.
After a last minute change of plans, my fellow traveler Jason Smith and I met in Rochester and left from there Thursday morning, the 18th, departing Rochester at 6:15am. We proceeded to travel through the fair state of main, making very good time, arriving in Bangor around 4:40pm. Along the way, we found much amusement in throwing pennies into the toll bins and watching for any moose/meese who might want to be crossing the road (of which we encountered none).

Thursday involved the typical last minute wedding details such as tux fittings, etc., and reuniting with old Houghton friends who were singing in the 15 person choir in the wedding. It was heavenly to sing choir songs for fun w/Jordan Markwood & Amy.

Friday morning the bride & bridesmaids went to get our nails done. This was my first time ever getting a manicure or pedicure, two indulgences I hope that I can afford to have done much more frequently now because they were amazing!

The rehearsal Friday afternoon (preceded by a secret trip to dairy queen!) went smoothly, the dinner tasted fabulous, and the worship after dinner was incredible. We sang Harp & Bowl and did prophetic worship w/Benjamin prayer leading, Brent worship leading, and then myself, Nickie, and Lindsay singing. It was awesome. A lot of people came and at one point we were all surrounding Justin & Amy, singing over them...really incredible. Lucas (Justin's brother)'s girlfriend from Japan (who was a Buddhist) got saved. No joke. Really awesome.

The wedding itself was of course absolutely beautiful. Everyone looked amazing, the choir sounded awesome (they provided all the music), and the wedding was extremely well-planned. The reception was so fun...there was a live swing band and great food...what more could you ask for?

On the trip back, Jason and I were joined by Lindsay Davis and Becca Clark. I had brought along electronic Catch Phrase, so we played that in the car with a little spin...all the clues had to be about Justin & Amy. It was absolutely hilarious. That night we stayed at Lindsay's in Clifton Park, and the next day went to her church (awesome) before heading home. Fabulous friends, fabulous weekend.

Matt & Laurel (Hoffman) Moran's wedding.
The following Friday (the 26th) I left home early in the morning to head down to my brother's apt. in Boyertown PA. After arriving there around 3:15, I headed to the King of Prussia Mall to meet Roommate (Em Schwartz)...we talked over dinner and enjoyed spending a last couple of hours together until she returns from Zambia in July.

From King of Prussia, I drove a little over an hour out to Lititz in Lancaster County to the lovely home of Josh & Kelly Gibbel where Richard met us later on. We had a blast catching up and hanging out...went to a diner and had coffee and appetizer samplers...it was Kel's b-day so we sang to her, on the way home, Richard hid popcorn shrimp in my purse, fun stuff. Then I went back to Tony's (a little over an hour) and couldn't sleep at all after drinking 3 cups of coffee. :-p

The next morning, I headed out to Elizabethtown for the infamous wedding....which was absolutely beautiful and oh so fun! There was an incredibly sweet spirit in that church and the presence of the Lord was definitely there. Of course as soon as I saw Laurel crying as she was coming down the aisle, I started crying, which I proceeded to do for the rest of the ceremony. Everyone looked really awesome (Bridesmaids especially of course...especially that Rachel Moran ;o)), and Matt & Laurel were so cute!

The reception was really fun hanging out w/Houghton kids and other people I knew who were there. Really fabulous food and a chocolate fountain. Good times.

After we left there, we headed back to wherever the Houghton people were staying...to this humongous 4-story house with an elevator. Immaculate is not a big enough word to describe this house. We hung out in their music room (with the beautiful Boston grand) and worshiped for a couple of hours, and then Aimee, David & I went to go get pizza, ate when we got back, then I headed back to Tony's.

I hung out w/Tony that night, slept in the next day, and then we decided to take our lunch at OCB (Old Country Buffet) and then proceeded to Richard's to retrieve Brent because he was riding back w/me. Richard's family was absolutely hilarious. I seriously couldn't stop laughing being around them. Let's just say he's definitely a product of his environment. :-p The ride home was good...lots of good talking time w/dear Brenton, arrived home really late, all is well.

Hung out w/Emily Smithers the other night...we went shoe shopping (she needed new sneaks...I of course bought nothing) and then chilled at her place. Good times.

Today and tomorrow there is a Creating Keepsakes Convention (as in Creating Keepsakes the scrapbooking magazine that I love) in Buffalo. I've been dying to go to it since they first announced it months ago, but finances are really low. I'm praying that someway I can work things out just to go walk around and get ideas...maybe meet some scrapbooking celebs, stuff like that. Eeee...I need to go there! :-p

Wow...I wrote a lot. Hope it was enjoyable...if anyone actually took the time to read it.
:-p

Blessings on your heads one and all!

weddings, scrapbooking, friends
