The Computer From Hell Strikes Again

I imagine you've all been wondering where I've been; I haven't been on ICQ or blogged in the three days. For some among you that may be normal , but not for me. And trust me, it wasn't by choice. Life without ninternet is a severe deprivation.

As I mentioned before, when I came back [Toronto] home this Sunday, I brought the old scanner with me. So Monday night, I was trying to install it, but the computer wouldn't read it. My dad told me to jiggle the wires a bit (because the pin is bent on one of them), but that caused the monitor to shut itself off. Having no display of any sort made it rather difficult to blog, sorry.

So he was in town today, bringing my brother's cello to Heinl's (his tailpiece exploded), and he spent three hours trying to fix things (he got the monitor working easily enough, but then there was no ninternet, and the computer wasn't reading the network card, the scanner, the floppy drive or the video card). It would have been a LOT less trouble if some retarded girl on my floor hadn't borrowed my Windows 98 cd two weeks ago and STILL NOT RETURNED IT. We had a different one, but it has a different serial number, which screws things up a bit.

So now almost everything is up and working again, except I'm back to 16 colours and a giant font, neither of which can be fixed at the moment.
