I'm a little sad today. I couldn't justify wearing my slides today. It was just too cold. I had to dust off my boots. *sigh* So I shall put up my flip flops and slides until the first spring day that hits 60 degrees. I also have a sweater set on. The cold just depresses me a little. I'm sitting here with my space heater keeping me company. It's a good little heater - I love it so much. My building at ASU is old and has a big master switch to change from AC to heat. They haven't switched it yet so it's a bit chilly around here.
My weekend was awesome though. I finally finished the 5th season of Buffy. The best part of the season finale for me was James Marsters when *spoiler* they find Buffy's body. He's so awesome. I started the 6th season thanks to
utkari02 who loaned me seasons 6 & 7. Now I won't have to wait on Netflix for my Buffy fix. On Saturday I had to drive a Dean candidate who had been in to interview to the Memphis airport. I really really hope he gets the job. If I have to give up my current awesome boss, he's who I want to work for. I also think he'd be good at ending (or at least decreasing) the obscene amount of backstabbing and pettiness around here. It was great to have the 90 minute drive to get to know him. Then I listened to some of the Jacob chapters of Breaking Dawn on the way home. I love the guy who read that part of the book. His voice is just yummy. I got home around lunchtime and got some stuff done around the house. Then Madelyn and I went out to her school's fall festival. Here's where my conflict with Fall lies...I love all the cool stuff that happens in the fall. Festivals, football games (don't care that much about the game but the social aspect is fun), farmer's markets and most importantly...Halloween! I just wish all that could happen in 75-80 degree weather as opposed to 40-50 degrees. OK - back to the festival. We had a great time playing games and seeing friends. Madelyn got an airbrushed tattoo of which she is extremely proud. We went to the mall after dinner and bought a kid-size cupcake baking kit from the toy store. Madelyn had a blast making them but they were so gross. I could only choke down one. But she loved them. I'm going to buy grocery store cake mix next time. Sunday was good. We skipped Sunday school so we could sleep in. But we made it to church to hear the guest speaker at our church (revival time). We'll have church tonight and tomorrow evening but I think it will be
interesting. Our speaker is
Leonard Sweet. He's been engaging and fun to watch so far so I don't mind a couple extra services. We went out to dinner last night with him and he has some great stories.
So now, I'm just trying to get myself going for another work week. I have lots to do this week so it should go by quickly. I can't wait to see posts about this weekend's Azkatraz trip to SF. I thought of you guys this weekend. I hope you had a great time.
