Since I'm staying home with Sophia I figured it made the most sense to make her baby food. It's quick and easy and gives us an excuse to go the local farmer's markets every weekend or so. I just make up a big batch and freeze it in the ice cube tray, then put it into labeled baggies. Well, with our upcoming vacation I've been trying to figure out how to bring her food along, since it's frozen and all. The other night Shawn and I ventured to Target to look into jars and whatnot. We grabbed a couple of Organic Gerber jars figuring they were our best choice, UNTIL I looked at the ingredients. There was tuna oil and a long list of other additives, even compared to the non-organic jars, which were just the vegetable and water.

It just grossed me out. I can't believe that they would add all that crap to the food and that people would actually buy it to feed it to their kids. I don't know maybe there is some nutritional value from all that stuff, but I just can't imagine anyone making it their baby food of choice.

(Sorry if I offend any of my mama friends with this. I am open to hearing other sides perspectives.)
