Just felt like writing about my day like I would have a couple years ago.
So they held a mass for my Grandma. I wanted to go so bad and for so many reasons. I talk about her all the time but it doesn't help lately, it can't bring her back all the way. I forgot that spending a morning in her name would be so special. I remembered her for who she was when I talked to one of her best friends. She was hilarious and truthful and blunt and... Grandma.
On that note. My aunt is pregnant at 44 years old. We found out around Thanksgiving. She has three boys - one 21, one 18, and one 15. She has always wanted a girl, but has never been able to have one. My grandma knew how much my aunt wanted a little girl - how she had dolls stored away, just in case.
Yesterday morning, my mom got a call from my uncle. My aunt is having a baby girl. A healthy baby girl.
This morning at mass while reading the prayer list, the Father first said to pray for Alice Garvey, my grandma. The next thing he said was to pray for the all of the babies.
I hear ya, grandma. :)
My mom says she's working her magic up there.
I don't doubt it.
