Our grant request to build the Awful Tower was rejected.

Looks like I'll go to Colorado after all. And... all that other stuff I want to do. Wow I'm feeling an odd cocktail of relief and disappointment and excitement.

Manual TransMission and the Awful Tower is a mind-blowingly cool build project and I'm in love with it. If it comes to pass that the possibility to build it becomes real it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience to manifest the magnificent art and the world I treasure. It finally dawned on me that the fact I bruise really easily for someone that likes to horseplay like I do is kind of a metaphor for how I engage a lot of things. My heart, for example. Vanessa and I managed to sleep through the last two hours of the trip home despite the fact that Brian, as driver, cashed in his 'rock the f*ck out' chips and cranked up Metallica's 'Kill 'Em All,' NoFX, Fugazi and two Bad Religion records to get him through the last leg of the trip.
