Lost in a good book
I'm reading House of Leaves again. I put it down after Chelan because it was freaking me out. I started rereading Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next series, which is comfort reading-- funny and not freaky at all. But now I'm into House of Leaves pretty thoroughly and it just started getting very, very weird. "Exploration #4" has taken a turn for the worse. I'm getting to the part where the book becomes a sloppy litter of footnotes and text printed at dozen angles on the page. Good thing I got in some bicycle riding and socializing this morning-- all I've done all day is read and snack.
