THE BAD PART:
my cell phone was stolen on wednesday night.
i was at dinner in the dining hall, and my cell was in my jacket pocket. i hung my jacket on the back of the chair and then went to get a drink. i got back to the table and proceeded to eat the wonderful thanksgiving meal they had for us (good food for once) and i reached in my pocket to call someone... and NO phone.
well... i knew that i didn't lose it, because it was definitely in my pocket when i put down my jacket. so i panic a little and then i get pissed off, and i get mad at myself for not keeping the phone with me, and i lose my appetite and the only good meal of the entire year is ruined. so i used danielle's phone to call my mom and she got my number suspended so no calls could be made on it.
NOW HERE'S THE GOOD PART:
my brother called my room yesterday saying that some guy called the house and told him that he found my phone and was going to turn it in. i asked my brother for the guys number and i had dave call it, and the guy said he would meet us in the lobby of one of the dorms. so we walked over there and we were still outside and this guy comes walking towards us and hands me the phone. there were plenty of other people coming and going from the building, but he walked right over to me. even though he had just talked to Dave, a GUY, on the phone. i didn't walk through the lawn saying - "hello does anyone have my phone??" yet he knew i was the one it belonged to- he just walked up and handed it to me. he told us that he found it in the cafeteria. and miraculously.... he had a strong resemblance to the guy that pulled his chair out and rammed it right into mine at dinner last nite and then burst into laughter without so much as a "my bad".
i don't know what made him go through the trouble of turning in this phone that he "found," but i'm glad that he did. the world is right again.
