I commented yesterday on
phoenixdreaming's journal about her
icon explanation meme, and she tagged me, the little brat! (Just kidding, S!)
She picked the following icons for me to explain:
I made this icon from the logo of one of Mack's favorite shows, "American Dragon: Jake Long." It's a cute show about a boy with an attitude who can transform into a dragon, and his job is to protect all magical creatures. I don't have any specific reason for using it on a post. I had it set up as a default picture for a while. I may go back to it again soon. I kind of like it.
I outright stole this one from
sacramentalist. I want to say he created it for a contest or something, but I'd probably be lying. I don't remember. But I like it. To me, it indicates a happy surprise kind of thing. I love cats, and a cat running up to you and jumping on you can be a happy surprise. It can also be very scary, but I try not to think of that. LOL
This one was made especially for me by my friend,
simplydreamin. She made several icons for me, taking things out of my interests list and seeing what images she could find. This one I'm sure was found during a gargoyle search. It is a lovely beast, and it looks like it's protecting the figure behind it. I use this one to sometimes indicate that I am feeling alone or unsafe/scared.
This is another one
simplydreamin created for me. I don't have any particular use for this except as something other than the default when I want something different. I really like the blue of the background on that icon.
I made this one last year or maybe the year before for Halloween. That is Bunnicula, from the children's book of the same name. I loved the Bunnicula stories when I was young, and I bought the book and started reading it to/with Mack last year. We never finished it, so maybe it's time to drag it out and read it through again. Plus, it's October, and I think it's time to start using Bunnicula as my userpic again.
I called this picture sleeping green. I don't remember where I snagged the picture or who took it. I wish I did. I would like to know where this is so I could go see it in person! I use this picture to indicate nature, sleepiness (like the all-consuming fatigue I've been fighting lately) and solitude. Sometimes, it also subs for the default when I'm bored.
I can't remember how long ago I made this, but this is my current default picture. When I first signed up on LJ, I used a pic of me. Then I switched to one of those make-a-pic things. Eventually, I took a picture of my tattoo, Photoshopped it and that became my default me pic.
Of course,
phoenixdreaming picked out a bunch of icons that don't have too much meaning to talk about, unlike hers where she could have written a dissertation on the meanings of her icons.
Anyway, if you want to play, comment. I am starting to get back into the swing of things, so there will be more updates, more often than once a month.
