Sick kiddo

Mack and I both slept all day Sunday. I think we each were awake for about five hours. Mack had been running a fever of just over 101° from early in the morning, and complained about a sore throat. I was just so very tired and achy and for a while I thought I was running a fever. When I actually checked my temperature, it was barely a little high (for me) at 97.6°. (My normal body temp is 97.1° .)

Monday morning, Mack was still running a fever, so I called work at 5:30 to say I wouldn't be in. Then Mack and I both went back to sleep. I woke up a little later, and Mack was clutching a small plastic garbage can while sitting up in bed watching television. He said he thought he was going to throw up but he never actually did. Poor kid. His fever stayed away most of the day, only to rear its ugly head again about dinnertime.

Mack did not feel like he had a fever this morning when he woke up, but he's very lethargic. I took him to school, and realized that I should probably have the nurse take his temperature before I abandoned him. The nurse said he could stay, so Mack said he'd hang in there.

My Badger order arrived today. I had ordered a couple of balms for myself and some as gifts. The wonderful folks at the Badger Company sent me a FREE Baby Badger stuffed doll. This little badger is made of Egyptian Cotton, and is stuffed solid. I'd hate to have him thrown at me by an angry child! Definitely a cutie, though.

Maybe a stuffed badger to throw at me would make Mack feel better.
