Cleaning on my off day
I took a day off of work to get some work done around the house. My main goal was to scrub and declutter Mack's room since he would be at day care, and I'm almost done with that. I sorted his toys from two HUGE containers and a little three-drawer chest down to the chest and one medium sized container. Plus I put the stuffed toys I thought he'd want to keep onto flat surfaces so they are a little more on display. They were taking up so much room in his toy boxes, and so many of them he hadn't played with in YEARS.
All the toys that were still in good shape and I knew he didn't play with ended up in a box that has been stashed in the garage for now. If he doesn't ask me for any of it in the next two months, all those unwanted toys will be donated to a charity that can dole them out to kids who will love them.
I have curtains around here somewhere. I bought them probably six months ago, and I really need to get those up. I did find the curtain rod, so I will probably put it up now, and I'll dig around for the curtains. I need to pick a paint color for his room. I'm currently thinking a light blue-ish grey that will be a nice base color for the denim curtains and the Spiderman stuff all over the room. I absolutely have to paint (the builder used a flat paint that can't be cleaned, those worthless SOBs!), so I may as well pick a nice color rather than this current not-quite-white color.
I have too much energy today. This probably means I will burn out tonight and not be able to move tomorrow. Oh well. At least Mack's room will be clean and organized!
