1) Name 5 comfort books, books that you read over and over:
- The Deed of Paksenarrion, Elizabeth Moon - Yes, it's a trilogy, but it's all in one book! That counts, right? Besides, it makes me get all weepy at the end of the third story...
- Barbary, Vonda N. McIntyre - very much a young adult novel, and really my first introduction to sci-fi in book form. I was already a Star Trek junkie when I first read it, but this led me to H. Beam Piper's Little Fuzzy and Anne McCaffrey's The Ship Who Sang series
- The Secret, Cynthia Victor - talk about an ultimate screw over your bastard husband that abandons you after cleaning out the bank accounts!
- Dead Witch Walking, Kim Harrison - a new favorite thanks to my friend April
- Jhereg, Steven Brust - Vlad is an assassin. He's a smart ass. Gotta love him!
2) Name 5 songs that you will always have in your collection:
- Moose In My House (Scroll to the bottom of the page), Scott Laningham (You laugh, and you should because it's funny, but my sis and I know all the words, and have since shortly after it was first aired)
- Any of Rob Thomas's works - that man is number one on my top five list, and all because of his voice.
- The Princess Bride Soundtrack, specifically "The Cliff of Insanity" and "Storybook Love"
- The Last of the Mohicans Soundtrack, specifically "The Kiss"
- "All Eyes On Me" by Goo Goo Dolls, if you're going to make me pick one.
(That was TOUGH! I mostly have a few favorite CDs that I listen to regularly, so picking specific songs? Not so easy.)
3) Name 5 comfort movies, movies that you watch over and over again:
- The Princess Bride - like I need to explain that one!
- Under Seige - for some reason, my sister and I watched this about every other weekend at my dad's house when we were growing up. This was often alternated with Adventures in Babysitting.
- Willow - another one I don't feel I have to explain!
- The Fifth Element - for some odd reason this is my favorite "I can't sleep" movie.
- Contact - When I was five, I wanted to be an astronaut and discover new worlds and new sentient beings. While she's not an astronaut in this movie, she's fulfilling the other things I wanted to do.
That's too much HTML for me. I'm quitting before I go blind.
