I had skipped all of the meta and news, so, yeah, I assumed Colby was done for when he was decloaked with a metaphorical dagger in his hand. Who knew it meant he'd be all sweaty and in the center of the premiere? I was very pleased to be wrong. Um, because of the storyline, not the nekkid and sweaty. Okay, not *just* that.
I think the Duane thing was that he was going to lose his life somehow. He had said he wouldn't go back to jail after the standoff with the "good guys" in the subway place. At least, in his eyes (and likely for the audience), he found some redemption in saving Good from Evil. Even if he was pretty much mostlyEvil himself. My take, at least... And it leaves Colby still owing him his life in ways, which is good for angsty meat.
I kinda liked how all to hell Charlie looked too. It's not the popular opinion but I did. And I did wonder the same about Amita (don't know the actress' name) but it was an odd costuming choice if so.
My attention had wavered a little at the end of last season but I am always a sucker for a Janus list and then the whole Colby reveal and I was hooked again. In conclusion, EPSESES!
