I had a hard time waking up for church this morning, but it was a good day with my kids and I was very happy with our staff meeting before church. My boss handed out a great reading about curriculum and why we do it. It really hit home with some of the things that have been going on there.
During the 8:30 service, we read our story while we had snack. Then we played Bible Bingo. Although they were fairly young for the game (I'd get cards with less pictures next time) they really had fun trying to find the pictures on their card. They all got a prize at the end too, even though only 1 had BINGO by the time parents came. At 9:45, Mary wasn't able to make it so Brad and I taught the 4 years old together. We went for a walk outside, told the Bible story from memory, and played catch. When they caught the ball, they had to tell us something they knew about Jesus. Then we played chase the teachers and keep away. When we got back inside, they were still excited so we played Bible Trivia (we made it up) and then we played musical chairs. They had so much fun, and so did we!
When I got home, James and I had lunch together. Then I did some homework and took a 30 minute nap on the futon. When James woke me up, I did some laundry and he cleaned the bathroom for me. That's a miracle and so very sweet of him. :) Then he took me out to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. I had a blackened chicken salad and saved half of it for tomorrow. It was so yummy. We got to watch the Rams game on a big screen. Not like it was a good game or anything though..
We had apple pie and coffee when we got home, and I'm still completely stuffed. I just finished my advocacy paper for my social studies methods class, and now I need to fold the white clothes.
