I finished The Secret Life of Bees yesterday when I was babysitting since Konnor actually took a nap. Yay! :) (Btw: it's an amazing read!) Then I watched Daddy Daycare until he woke up. I think he is really starting to miss his dad. I'm not sure if Krystle has explained that Todd comes home TOMORROW, but Konnor has been really clingly. He didn't want to stay with me yesterday, but then when Krystle was gone he carried his blanket over to me in the rocker and said, "Hold me." I cuddled him, rocking him with my head resting on top of his.
Last night James and I went to eat at Carlos O'Kelleys (
mayden_dor, do you remember asking about that restaurant on the way to St. Louis?). We got a gift certificate there from our friend Eric for Christmas, so we got a nice dinner. We had tacos, enchiladas, and chips & salsa. It was pretty good.
Today I had my CPR class for work at church. It was really informal and relaxed, which gave us plenty of time to learn the things we needed to. I actually think I could do CPR now. We also learned that there is a defibulator in our church, and we are allowed to use it on adults if needed. He taught us how to put on the patches, and to follow the prompts on the screen in order to defib.
In a few weeks I will get a card in the mail that I'm CPR certified. That I may, at some point in my life, be performing on a person to give them life back. The powerful thoughts of life and death in that type of situation are whirling in my mind now.
On a totally different note, does anyone have any book recommendations for me? Have you read any good ones lately?
