When it comes to surprises in the moonlit night...

First of all:

Second of all. I miss wrote when I said the river ride was only 5 P. I wish it were only 5 pence. If it were, Eric, your prediction would be correct, except in that it apparently never actually gets freezing cold here. It is a 5 Pound charge for students. I will, however, be signing up to use the library at the cathedral, since getting in there is the low price of free and I want to be just like Chaucer.

Apparently the last time I wrote was the 17th, so let's do a little "I've been sick" update.
Saturday:
Hallow's End began on WoW, so that was exciting. I was hacking all day and lucky I didn't climb back into bed immediately upon waking up. I had to meet with my performance group at 4 in the library. It was actually a beautiful day outside, so I decided to take pictures for my Dad, who keeps asking me to take pictures of my campus.
After the library, I went back to my room and Jae invited me out to have dinner. So I went over to Woody's after getting some work done (I can't believe it, either) and we had some food. On my way over, because it was already dark out, I decided to actually use the lights in my backpack. Now I feel like they were a good investment, since I'm on a campus big enough to actually use them when I'm walking around at night.
The waiter/bartender who helped us at Woody's was really nice and excited that we were from America, because he worked in New York this summer at a camp. He was even more excited that we were from the East coast.
I had fish and chips for the first time, and it wasn't bad. I fail at eating fish without having it fall apart... any ideas why that is? But the chips were just like Red Robin steak fries. They were delish.
After dinner, we headed back to Jae's room for our favorite activity of educating each other on television shows. I started her Office education with "The Alliance, and she showed me another episode of Doctor Who. I am beginning to love that show.
I headed back to my dorm room and noted how many rabbits were out to play. I love it.
Also, none of my clothes were dry yet, so I tried to reconfigure them in a way that more would dry quickly. I failed.
Sunday Jae and I decided to meet up for coffee around noon, but the Gulb was closed so we went into the Rutherford dining hall for brunch. I had rice krispies, since the eggs weren't looking too good and my stomach was still a little lurchy from whatever I'm sick with. Jae and I both ate for virtually free, since brunch counts as "breakfast" on the meal plan, and that's all I get for free. And that consists of five items, a cold beverage, a hot beverage, and a side of toast (weird, I know), and we rounded a grand total of five items, apple juice, coffee, and toast. Nom nom nom.
Then we went to my room and watched an episode of the office and planned a few things to do when we go to London on Saturday. We also started to ponder the weather, because everyone keeps warning us that it's about to get awful. But Jae's from Vermont, and I'm from New England, and England itself never even sees snow. We asked the guy at Woody's if the weather really was about to get bad, and he said not as bad as it ever gets in America. So maybe people underestimate winter in the Northern states???
Anyhow. Today, Monday, I slept in because I was up late last night and because I'm pretty sure I'm on the tail end of whatever this is *knocks on wood*
I got more work done, believe it or not, including my review of Beetlejuice. And then saw clips of the old cartoon show, and it was a downward spiral into distractions from there. I decided I'm going to be Lydia from the television show for Halloween. It's a simple enough costume concept, and I figure even if I don't finish the costume in time for Halloween, it'll be done in plenty of time for ICON and then I can reuse it!
ALSO
I talked to Sarah this afternoon, and we figured out when she is coming to visit!! Now the challenge will be to figure out a way for her to sleep comfortably, and for her to get from London to Canterbury without spending an arm and a leg, or getting hopelessly lost.
I need to pick a weekend to go to Italy with somewhat the same success.

Other than that, I have a lot of editing of my play to do this week, as the deadline for Playworks is this coming Sunday and I want to get it in a little early. I also have Chaucer work to do, and a little reading for performance on Wednesday. If I get up at a reasonable time tomorrow, I might even be able to chip away a bunch of that work. That would be amazing.
Wish me luck!!
