Christmas and secret santa stuff
I think I am almost done my shopping. Just have to run uptown for a couple things to even up the kids and wrapping paper. I'm avoiding the whole part there where I haven't even figured out what to send my mom, which should have been mailed by the 6th to get there in time and haven't done the cards and I am hoping like hell the stuff I ordered will get here in time....Yeah so almost done.
I have at least finished the Christmas gift for the secret santa exchange at sftcolars. It wasn't what I had offered up for the exchange and I am hoping that she will like this better. I originally had said I'd do a fanmix but later got to thinking why not audio book one of their stories. So after talking to fandrea(can't remember her lj name)about it we thought my person might be alright with it. I'm a bit excited for her to get it. I mean I am fairly new to the podfic-ing, so I hope it sounds good but mostly she's a really good author, so it was a treat to do one of her stories. Picking was the hard part. There is alot of them. Finally I had to go by size. Ten thousand words can take at least nine hours to record and edit on a good day.
I ended up picking one that was a bit more humourous then the others. I think I am actually better at reading the angsty stuff. The humour is hard for me because I tend to talk really fast when I am amused or in a good mood. So hopefully it doesn't sound like someone put the recording at 2x speed.
As for the card exchange on the writers guild...well obviously I haven't mailed those yet. In fact, I haven't even bought them. I keep looking and its hard to find cards that aren't overly christmassy. I would love to send those cards that are really sarcastic, like from the far side but they don't have any christmas ones. They used to, but small town here... can't find shit!.
Which reminds me the one card I was looking at yesterday said "I said Sheet cake!", while showing a cartoon drawn chef staring down at a cake with flies flying around it. LOL Ok I think that is freakin Hilarious but obviously not everyone would so I hesitate to send something like that.
Well back to the rush and the grumpy ass Christmas shoppers. Its really cold here this week and everyone is in a bad mood because of it. Between that and the shoppers out in a panic doing their last minute stuff it isn't exactly pleasant.
