School and Travels

My School is great. They're all so sweet! Today they treated me to Chinese Food because it's my second last day here. (Tomorrow won't work because half of them are going to a leadership Camp or something.)

I know I spend a lot of time on here complaining about them, but I really do love them here, and it'll be hard to find a good replacement school in Australia. Mostly because my parents don't want to pay for the Private School Education at Penrith Christian Life Center, so I'll be stuck in a High School with like, I dunno, 21 000 students, as opposed to the 7 I'm in school with now.

Yes, I did say seven. The High school wing has a total of seven students. The whole school (Kindergarden to Grade 12) has just over a hundred students. The teachers are young and friendly (Not like at my old school, where the majority of teachers were over the age of fifty), and everyone pretty much knows everyone.

It's a fairly new school. A French Catholic minority in a town that is mainly English speaking and Protestant. I actually like it here, despite all my whining and complaining. And I'm actually going to be sad to leave - which I am doing this weekend.

On Saturday we're leaving Owen Sound to go to my Grandparents' place for the weekend. We'll go to their Church on Sunday, and say our goodbyes to all the Desjardines there. Then, Monday morning at Six AM, we'll drive down to Niagara Falls where we'll take the train to New York City (Thirteen hour train ride! Joy!). I don't think we'll get to see the falls, though. Pity, it's been over a year since I last saw them. Not that they've changed or anything...

We'll spend the 25th just hanging around New York City. Apparantly Central Park is bigger than Owen Sound! I think we're going to the World Trade Centre Site, too, and maybe the Statue of Liberty. I've never been to New York City, and I probably won't be able to see everything in just one day.

The 26th we'll actually fly out to Sydney. A 22 hour plane ride with only a one hour stop in San Fransisco doesn't really sound appealing to me, but they were the cheapest tickets (about half the price of flying out of Toronto.) The 28th (Due to flying over the date line at an odd time, the 27th is just going to disintigrate to nothing. Australia is ahead of us.) we arrive at Sydney airport, hopefully into the arms of Nana, Uncle John and Cousin Elissa.

So there you have it! Since I am sure you were all dying to know where I'm going - and how.

Update is coming slowly. I'm hoping it isn't going to turn into just another writing project, that I start eagerly, write a few pages and get bored of. I have a problem with finishing things I start. I mean, I know where I want to take the family, I just don't know how to get them there. It'll probably end up being as complex as my trip to Australia. But maybe I'll work on it on the train, or plane, or something. I know I've left a lot of you hanging recently. There are legacies that have been updated that I haven't gotten around to reading. There are people who have commented on my stuff, to whom I haven't replied.

And I have been busy. I think I've said that. The problem with a small school is that everyone is always on your case about everything, teachers, couselors and students alike. It gets frustrating after awhile.

I'll try to post here again when I get to New York or something.
