well mihailis has disappeared from the flesh as of 1.30 pm est.
sad bunnies.
but anyway, it's time to kick into international professional gear. on tuesday, i've got an interview with one of the top 4 consulting firms in the us. i am interviewing for a research position in their Capture Group for the Public Services Division. if i get the job, i'll be working in washington dc starting in february or so. bye bye, academia; good riddance, massachusetts.
i'm totally prepared for not getting the job. this will be my first professional interview, so i'm bound to make some blunders. if i hadn't tried to go to that mock interview at mt holyoke, i might not have realized that I lacked the appropriate attire until it was too late. who knows what crucial information i would have discovered if i had actually made it to the mock interview. strike one against the international professional doctrine.
fortunately, mihailis was present to witness my fumbling through my wardrobe in search of interview clothes. he recognized my need, identified the remedy, and knew precisely how to acquire that remedy. what luck! my boyfriend knows where to buy women's suits! what a little doll. and in the mean time, he mended the closest thing i had to a suit-skirt while i ran around like a mad-woman. can you just picture: mihailis sitting on my bed, sewing a skirt, quietly thinking up the solution to a problem that was making me hysterical??
also, i'm taking lsat courses in new york in january. but they take place only on the weekends, so i've got to find something interesting to occupy my weekdays. my only idea is to find a think tank/research group that could use an extra hand for a few weeks. i hope it's not too late to find something.
ok, now, to prepare for dc.
