Empirically-speaking, I think I must be pretty stressed out. I can't seem to sleep more than 5 hours at a time, which is highly unusual for me -- sometimes I fail to sleep more than 5 hours at a time, but that's usually by design. This is just... mood? my reaction, in brief:
deeply and almost personally threatened, horrified and compassionate, compassionate on a more human/everyday scale, annoyed at the stupidly heavy-handed editing, occasionally bored, worried, regretfully understanding, unsurprised but still disturbed, and determined to not fight war with war.

no one would ever call Ghost of an American Airman subtle. and they're from Belfast, so it's pretty likely they're a bit focused on one particular war. but well, something about this song has always gotten to me. these lyrics are the best i can decipher them based on listening to the song, so they may not be perfect. off their 1993 final album ( Read more... )
