Today featuring Boston and Bristol and Minneapolis-St. Paul.
First, and farthest away, I would go and
wade through books in Bristol and bring home bags and bags full.
Next, and nearest, I would attend one of the last two performances of
Caligula at the Red Eye Theatre, put on by my brilliant friends at the Walking Shadow Theatre Company. I know they were really psyched about this particular translation, and from all accounts the central performances are excellent.
And lastly, I would go see and hear
the Zamir Chorale of Boston team up with the Newton Choral Society to perform 4 pieces, 2 of which were quite possibly my favorites of all the music I sang with Zamir, Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms and Five Hebrew Love Songs by Eric Whitacre. In fact, I think the Whitacre piece might well be my second favorite choral piece of all time, second only to Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms, and I doubt anyone sings it better than Zamir does. It promises to be a gorgeous night of music, one that I'm very sorry to miss.
