During the storms last week , Neil decided to cycle the 22miles to work in Richmond, now sometimes when he rides to work, he hasn't quite got the energy to do the last 5 miles back from Weybridge, so I go out in the van and retrieve him and bike.
I decided he might need a bit of help coming home. So I took the van to my Pilates class in Weybridge. There were lots of trees down and several police diversions but the wind was getting less by the time Neil came to ride home.
Now, I hadn't used the van for a while, I think I knew its starting was getting more temperamental and sure enough when I came to come home would it start, would it heck.
It was a bit late and so I just caught a cab back and decided to cycle back over the next day to meet the RAC.
They tried to start it using all the usual tricks but no luck and they told me I needed a new starter motor. Bit annoying as I had bought a new one about 18months ago. RAC man called for a tow truck and they tried the same tricks and guess what...
Yes it started first time.
Doh
So I drove it over to a garage in Woking, preying it would not stall, where they have promised to look after it and try to work out what is causing the problem.
So now I am waiting patiently for them to ring and tell me the damage.
