Suicide

People who threaten it are in love with the idea of it. Sometimes just the concept of escape - after all, life is hard - and some have built up more complicated reasons for it. There's a hook to the concept, either an idea of releasing some kind of shame or annulling it, or a subtle scent of complexity and tragedy.

I think it completes someone's idea of tragedy and proves the depths of their suffering.

But I think it holds a person responsible for the most criminal of failings - that you couldn't keep from taking the one thing karma doesn't give back sometimes. Moreover, it seems to punished the loved ones of the deceased. Soemtimes they don't realize that they are hurting people. Sometimes they realize they are, but don't believe that it is their decision to do so, and that their selfish goals are more important. It is maybe a way to simply ignore the goodness in their lives, or maybe to discount it, like a coupon that's expired.

But then again, maybe they think it's the best story they tell. Sometimes what your death sets in motion you could not have achieved in life.

Or maybe they realise this isn't the lifetime in which they'll be who they want, do what they want, and thus life is a series of frustrations, hells, and prisons. And sometimes it's those things literally. Who are we to judge?
