1. Justin wore a Milwaukee t-shirt. M-House represent!
note: I want that fuckin' t-shirt, man.
2. The reactions to Brian and Justin's wedding announcement were so on cue to each character's personality.
note: Ted was hulaaaarious.
3. Ok. Has no one learned to pay more attention to Brian's facial expressions than to what he's actually saying? This man's face reads like an open fuckin' book. I mean, come on. The man truely says what he means and means what he says. THE FACE, people. LOOK AT THE FACE. Brian has this brilliant way of meshing sarcasm and a meaningful response together. Case in point, Brian's second proposal. Devout Brian!freaks (me included) hated it because, "It was so not what he would say." I know, I know. My Prince, etc. You're missing the point. It is exactly something Brian would sarcastically say and, yet truely mean at the same time. FACE. READ IT.
Again in this episode, scenes where confused fans need to be preoccupied with Brian's expressions: All of them, but mainly 1) when the lesbians confront Michael and Brian about moving to Canada; 2) He and Michael discuss the lesbians' moving plans; 3) His conversation with Justin regarding Gus--in which I give credit to Justin because he did exactly what I'm proposing (though, he doesn't always); and 4) every fuckin' scene he's in with anyone, ever!
Brian has been so in character it's making sick. He's rational, yet irrational. Disrespectful, yet considerate. Physical, yet emotional. Adamant, yet regretful. He's just a big ole' ball of ironic nerves just praying that he has the audacity to live one more day. A true human being.
4. Emmett is so much better than this Hi! I'm just a happy homo here to help and please all your closeted needs!-bullshit. First, he goes back in the closet, then he not only helps one, but three--count 'em---three homos drag themselves out of the closet. (For those of you reading, you're probably wondering who's the third one. Well, let's just all admit to ourselves that Ted had to be a porn website executive, bareback, become a meth addict, and play as someone's juice pig before he didn't hate himself as much. Being out is loving and accepting yourself for who you are, not just engaging in the sex that's gay. Very, very gay sex, but still...)
5. I love Carl. As painful, unconstitutional, and unbelievably wrong all this anti-gay political bullshit is, the man has a point. The tide will indeed turn, it's just unfortunate that we have to live mistakes before we learn from them. But, things have changed so drastically in just three decades. No one would have imagined anyone coming out, let alone being proud of themselves, twenty years ago. An actual dialogue has been created. Once again, things will change.
6. Unforunately, I believe Justin will leave or plan to leave for New York in the last episode, and the two of them will not get married. He's only 22 and is too afraid to let go of what he has, the reliable things in life. Regardless of many incidences reading otherwise, Brian has been the rock. Among his relationship with Justin and the group. He's done more for every single person in the family than anyone else that I want to smack the shit out of anyone who mentions how heartless and selfish he can be.
FUCK. YOU.
And, I agree. Justin has to leave. His life lacks experience. He will be a better person for it. And, Brian knows this. Love is when you put someone else's life before your own. I wouldn't expect anything else from Brian. I just want it to end well and respectfully and that it doesn't seal the Brian & Justin book. I want the impression that it really isn't the end of them. With that, I will be happy.
7. If #6 is proven to be true and they end it badly, I will be pissed for Brian. He not only will lose Justin, the love of his life, but a second chance with his son as well. I just don't want that to push him back five years. A lot of necessary progress has been made. Let's keep it that way.
8. Incessant tears ran down my cheeks during Brian and Lindsay's private conversation at the park. Brian is ever more beautiful and interesting after the walls have fallen down than he is when they continued to crumble. As I've mentioned before, with the loss of Lindsay, Gus, and possibly Justin, I pray he sticks this out. He knows what he's done for years hasn't given him what he needs. Now, three of the four necessities may be leaving. I just don't to get the impression that he will fail immensely. Otherwise, these last five years were worthless.
9. Why does this have to be the end?
10. Long live the DVDs!
