Jared and Jensen aren’t mine ç_ç they belong to each other themselves. So does every other real person and/or every fictional character I mentioned here. Well, except Josh Charles, who belongs to my dear Fae and if you say otherwise she’s gonna cut your hands and feed them to her goldfish. (Yeah, I’m obviously kidding, we own nothing. ;_____;)
Numb3rs belongs to Cheryl Heuton and Nicholas Falacci, Grey’s Anatomy belongs to Shonda Rhimes, Heroes belongs to Tim Kring, LA Heat belongs to whoever its creator is, Sports Night belongs to Aaron Sorkin and Lost belongs to JJ Abrams.I really don’t mean to offend anyone and nothing of what I wrote in this story is to be considered real, it’s all fiction.
Author’s Notes: Okay, so…first thing. You don't need to know the shows I put in this story, so don't worry about that. I know it sounds crazy to mix up real people and fictional characters. But trust me, I had a hell of a lot of fun writing this, and if you give it a chance, maybe you’ll enjoy reading it! ^_-
As ever, feel free to report any mistake. Constructive criticism is welcome, feedback makes me happy!

Chapter 15 ‘Epilogue’
Jensen opened his eyes and realized he’d fallen asleep on the chair again. He shifted and stretched his neck, turning to look at the bed in front of him. Jared was still unconscious, it had been three days since the shooting, and Jensen had never left his room for more than a couple of hours.
Slowly he stood, stretching his back and approaching the bed, sighing. Jared had been in surgery for a few hours, he was supposed to wake up any minute now, and Jensen was going to be there.
The events of that day came back to him and the guilt made his stomach curl again. Jared got shot, and the thought of losing him made Jensen’s crisis in the van feel almost silly.
He brought the chair close to the bed and watched him sleep. The necklace Jensen had given him was around his neck and Jensen held out a hand to touch it. He rested his head against his arm and closed his eyes, while his fingers kept playing with the pendant.
“I know what it means.” Jared muttered, and Jensen’s head snapped up. Jared showed him a slow smile and brought his hand to Jensen’s. “The never-ending knot. It’s a symbol of never ending love and life entwined.”
“Looks like someone did his homework.” Jensen whispered, a wide smile spreading on his lips. “Jare…I…thank God you’re okay.” He added, raising to place a kiss on Jared’s jaw.
“Takes more than a bullet to get me out of the way.” Jared said, slowly getting more aware of his surroundings. “I’m tougher than that Dean Winchester guy.”
“You watch way too much tv.” Jensen replied, shaking his head, but he couldn’t keep the smile off his lips.
“What happened?” Jared asked, looking around. At Jensen’s frown he chuckled. “I mean, I know what happened…I think…but, what happened to me? The bullet hit some organ or something?”
“No, you…you’ve been damn lucky.” Jensen looked at him in the eye, biting on his lips. “I don’t know what I would have done if I’d lost you. I love you so freakin’ much.”
“I love you too, babe.” Jared replied as Jensen rested his head against his shoulder.
“Don’t call me babe.” Jensen muttered against him, and Jared laughed.
“How’s Jeff?”
“He’s fine, the bullet passed through the shoulder without any significant damage.” Jensen’s eyebrows raised and he grinned. “You know, he’s tough. Marine tough.”
“Jeff was a Marine?” Jared asked, stunned, and Jensen looked up at him.
“I am a Marine.” Jeff said from the doorstep, his left shoulder and arm bandaged. “Once a Marine, always a Marine. Hell, do I have to teach you everything, boy?”
“It’s good to see you alive too, Jeff.” Jared replied, showing him a wide smile.
“Yeah, whatever.” Jeff said, but mirrored the smile, reaching them. “I talked to Eppes, Josh confessed the murder of Josh Charles or what the hell his real name was. And he gave them all the evidence they needed to take Weatherly’s organization down.” He explained, a little smile still on his lips. “Apparently he’d been following Weatherly for months, even in Mexico.”
“Good for us, right?” Jensen nodded slowly, shrugging. “We won’t have to testify against anyone.”
“Yeah, good for us.” Jared looked at the two of them and smiled, wincing in pain right after it. “Can you please call a nurse, I really need more of those drugs.”
“Whiny spoiled kid.” Jeff muttered, walking out of the room with no rush, and Jensen let out a chuckle.
“That man hates me.” Jared muttered, pouting.
“He loves you.” Jensen placed a kiss on the boy’s temple. “And he saved our lives.”

“Hey sugar!” Tom said as he walked in the room with Michael. “How are you doin’?”
“Better.” Jared replied with a wide smile from his bed. He put down the book he was reading and adjusted the pillows behind his back. “How about you?”
“Yeah, we’re fine.” Michael reached him and handed him a box of chocolate and a letter as Jensen sat down on the bed, next to his boyfriend. “You might want to read that.” Michael suggested.
Jared opened it and took out what looked like an official court paper. Frowning he read it quickly, a little grin spreading on his lips as he passed it to Jensen.
“The court denied the parole to Nathan!” Jensen almost yelled, looking up from the paper with a wide smile.
“He might be influent, but he’s not the only one.” Tom said with a grin, sitting on one of the chairs and looking briefly at Michael. “And since his dear friend Weatherly turned out to be a psychotic son of a bitch, his reliability has been discussed.”
“And the Primatech Paper is now officially part of the Rosenbaum Corporation.” Michael announced, shrugging.
“You bought the company?” Jared was staring at him like he’d grown two heads.
“Yep. I’m moving it to LA next month. Oh, and I’m ready to fire your father, say the word and he’s gonna be jobless.” Michael saw the shock on Jared face and nodded. “You don’t have to tell me now, think about it.”
“I’ll…I’ll think about it.” Jared replied with an incredulous look on his face.

Three months later, November 2000
“C’mon, you’re gonna be late!” Jared yelled from the kitchen, pouring the coffee.
“No, you’re gonna be late, my class starts at 10!” Jensen shouted back from the bathroom, walking quickly towards the cup of coffee waiting for him in the kitchen.
“Oh, Alona called, the surprise party’s at Jeff’s diner, tonight.” Jared announced, looking for something in the cupboards. “Did you buy Lucky Charms?”
Jensen entered the kitchen and raised an eyebrow. “Seriously dude, Lucky Charms?” He asked with a grin. “Aren’t you a bit grown up for that stuff?”
“You’re never old enough for Lucky Charms. And I take it that’s a no.” Jared poured a bowl of milk and Jensen went to the higher cupboard, taking out a box.
“Here, kid.” Jensen handed his boyfriend the cereals and Jared smiled widely, opening them quickly. “So, party’s tonight? I guess we’d better think about something to buy for her.”
“We can go look for something after class.” Jared proposed, pouring a huge amount of cereals in the milk. “Oh, and on the fridge there’s a note that says you have to pick up Jeff’s pack.”
“Right!” Jensen went to the fridge and took the note, looking at it while he sipped his coffee.
Jared mumbled something with his a mouthful of Lucky Charms and Jensen chuckled.
“Yeah, he’s gonna like it.” Jensen replied with a smile as he put the note in his pocket.
“Good.” Jared asked, holding out the box towards Jensen. “Want some?”
Jensen’s eyebrows shot up and he chuckled, then gave up and shook his head as his hand reached inside the box.
“Oh, and the prize is mine.” Jensen warned, then mouthed the cereals, causing Jared to burst into laugh and almost choke on his milk.

“Guys, I’m so glad you made it!” Alona greeted them closing the diner’s door right after they entered. The blinds were closed and from outside it looked like the place was deserted. Inside there was a small group of Samantha’s colleagues and a couple of her friends. “Sam’s gonna be here any minute.”
“Sorry, we got lost on our way here.” Jensen replied, gaining a soft slap on the head from Jeff. “Hey! You ended up in Seattle once!”
Jared and Alona looked at them with confused expressions, but then shook their heads turning as they heard a car stopping in front of the diner. Jeff turned off the light and they all waited in silence.
When the door opened someone turned the light back on and they all shouted a loud “Surprise!”. Samantha looked around, an incredulous smile on her face.
“Oh my God, guys, I…” She laughed, turning to look at her niece. “Alo, you put this together?”
“I got a lot of help…” Alona walked over to Jeff and hooked her arm around his. “Didn’t I, Jeff?” She asked, looking at her aunt, then back at the man.
Jeff brought his free hand up to scratch the back of his neck while a smile fought to rise to his lips. “Yeah, kinda…”
“Please, pinch me. Hard.” Jared muttered, surprised and Jensen looked at him with an amused frown. “Jeff’s gonna blush, I must be having some sort of horrible nightmare where aliens take over the Earth or something, and then they…they…”
“He’s just head over heels in love, Jared.” Jensen shook his head, laughing.
Jeff turned to look at them as Samantha took off her coat and her friends reached her.
“I know it’s not your birthday, but…” Jensen smiled and handed him a dark blue box. “We wanted to give you this.”
Jeff frowned and opened the box, and his eyebrows shot up as he saw what was inside.
“Guys, this must have cost you a fortune!” Jeff looked up at them, surprise and worry on his face, while his hand held a silver Swiss watch.
“Turn it over.” Jared smiled widely and bit on his lip when the man did as told.
On the back of the watch there were two words finely engraved. A slow, genuine smile curved his lips and he looked back up at them. “Semper fi.”
The two boys mirrored the smile and Jeff nodded slowly, holding the watch in his hand. Samantha called him and Jeff turned briefly, hesitating.
“Go, your girlfriend’s waiting.”
“She’s not my girlfriend.” Jeff muttered, putting on the watch. “Yet.” He added with a grin, walking towards her after giving a last glance to the boys.
“Yeah, he really is head over heels in love.” Jared’s smile was affectionate and it got wider as the boy felt Jensen’s arm around his waist and Jensen’s chest against his back.
“I know what it feels like.” Jensen whispered against Jared’s shoulder.
Jared leaned in the touch and his hand found Jensen’s.
“Me too.”

end
A/N: No, not really. LOL There’s more to be posted. Actually, there’s: a couple of angsty sequels (‘cause the sappy ending needs some angst), a Christmas story (plus two Christmas semi-drabbles) and a lengthy ten-years-later sequel in two chapters. So no, I’m not leaving you like this. Well, I hope this is good news, otherwise…ehm…whoops?
Okay, I’m kinda done. I just want to thank you all for the support and the comments. Thank you so so much. *hugs you all*
See you quite soon.JM
