Not-quite year-end survey... [pocket_entropy's version, with all new #21 and 29!]

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Paid rent.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
So far... not preggers yet :p Next year will prolly be the same.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not really [that is, not close--not "not really gave birth" XD URR HUR HUR].

4. Did anyone close to you die?
My grandfather, making both paternal grandparents. Once closer, Dean Guffey, my high school math teacher--I really regret not making right with him.

5. What countries did you visit?
The excitable state of Maryland... the homeland of Tennessee... general United States.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
Money :p ...that is, money saved.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
4 April, finally moving into this dump! [Next year, it will be 30 April, moving OUT of this dump. :/ Because... suck.]

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
RESTARTING MY FOOL COMIC. I'm not sure anything I do at work constitutes genuine achievement... oh! Breaking a million points in Gradius V was pretty cool, too. :D

9. What was your biggest failure?
Keeping ill will... :/ though not MAINTAINING my fool comic is pretty low, too... and, amazingly, I'd forgotten about that accident I'd gotten into where I'd caved in my hood but only barely scratched the other car. \:'

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing to write home about. Car wreck was primarily cosmetic.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Gradius V [NA release] :D ...potentially tied with the... pants... er... :3 and a shitload of Kit Mambo cels 9_9;

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Um...? Charles's? :3

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Quite a lot of people's... :/ The majority of my co-workers, sadly.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Cels... argh! :p

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Gradius V! The cels were mostly out of "OMG TEHRE WILL NOTS BE MORE AFTER SOMEONE BUYS DEM ALL" reflex.

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
La... lala LA la la la, LA la Katamari Damacy... XD

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
I. happier or sadder? Pretty well off.
II. thinner or fatter? Not a good question to ask people |:/ but about the same.
III. richer or poorer? I can't really tell.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Stayed awake... :p or slept XD

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Stayed awake... :p or slept XDXDXD

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Prolly fooding at the Mugg house, followed by Eddie Izzard or some random movie. ;)

21. Any new pets in 2004?
Wuffie! XDXD ...well, no, he's a carryover ;)

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
Quite a bit, though with the same person ;)

23. How many one-night stands?
My stands last longer than a night, thank you very little.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
24, actually XD

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Most of my co-workers... |:/

26. What was the best book you read?
Angels & Demons, by Dan Brown. [Don't ask me about the worst one.]

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
That I can compose music! Unfortunately, I can't remember any of it, much less perform it, upon waking. :/

28. What did you want and get?
Wuffie... :D

29. What did you want and not get?
A bigger raise... $.55/hour? Oh, well, it's something. Too bad it'll be another year before I get another.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
While I love the satire of The Incredibles and Team America: World Police, they're very niche-appeal. Memento was from several years ago, but I only saw it this year, and it's very possibly my new favourite movie of all time.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Funny, I can't remember. :/ Except that I was and am STILL 26.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not having idiot "Musical Chairs" management running our apartment complex. The car wreck should've happened, because otherwise I'd be still using Virginia insurance for a Maryland car.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
"Did Not Buy New Clothes from Last Year's Prep School Look" kind of a thing.

34. What kept you sane?
Wuffie :(

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
A lot of them look good. Looks aren't everything, though, and it's Charles who wakes me up every day... ;)

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The election got pretty heated, but the MGM bill actually changed my mind on something for which I'd believed I would never change my opinion.

37. Who did you miss?
I do miss my brother. Hopefully he's still around when we try to drop by my folks' place in mid-January or so.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Kelly was pretty cool. She's not at 1193 anymore, though...

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you earned in 2004:
I learned that mature love--including responsibilities for the most mundane chores--is thousands of times more satisfying than I could have ever imagined it being... and, with that, immature love [puppy love, love of new and exciting things] is fun on occasion but like eating a bag of candy compared to a full-course steak dinner.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Um...

"No one in the world ever gets what they want and that is beautiful
Everybody dies frustrated and sad and that is beautiful
They want what they're not and I wish they would stop saying,
Deputy dog dog a ding dang depadepa
Deputy dog dog a ding dang depadepa"

Wait, wait... I'll have to think about this one. Nah, I can't think of anything good. They Might Be Giants is fairly accurate of the schizophrenia that is my train of thought, however.
