4341: Subway (Radio Edit)
About all this post will relate to the subj. is today was a day of sammiches =9
State of the Something Address:
So my folks dropped by yesterday and the day before on their becoming-annual-traditional drop-in to the G-burg area. They are now approaching "visited us more than I/we visited them" territory, but--as my folks agree--the drive is NOT FUN to make =( [and I really hate flying, and they feel [well, my father feels] drained by travel]
The biggest thing is Mum and Pa Mugg finally met my folks, which is pretty much all I would've asked for for their [one-day notice] visit. On that note, I had mentioned to Falco, when asked if anything exciting was going on, that my folks stopped by, and she insisted I take the [Wednes]day off to visit with them. Not paid, of course, but I wasn't expecting paid ANYTHING for some time [temp agency only gives vacation after six months PER PROJECT, the skinflints, and I'm not an employee YET] =p
Anyway, his folks [both, finally] met my folks, my father got a nap, and my mother got a shitload of pickled radish [takuan]. Oh, and I got a bike that was taking up space at the house [Wednesday eve spent assembling and fussing with some problem it had]. Rather low-key as far as family get-togethers go, but my family's been pretty hands-off over the years [which I also explained to Falco, why it wasn't a big deal to me to have more than the day off, though she was surprised I showed up to work today].
I finally got to buy them dinner, anyway--buffet food, but still buying. Yeah, I've gotten them gift cards, but that's not really the same as specifically "treating" them.
What else... sammiches... yeah, there was a meeting or other today, and they catered Jersey Mike's. Shitload of sammiches =9 Falco labelled what each of them were, which was a good idea since it's kinda hard to eyeball what's in it [and a couple had what tasted like Old Bay in them??], but at least two people [I overheard] drank the bottles of vinegar, thinking they were some kind of special Jersey Mike's soda.

[Kinda can't blame 'em, since the oil and vinegar were in what look like standard bottles water might come in, and the oil looks like grape something... but the vinegar SMELLS!]
