4159: Grow Up

Mar 08, 2012 00:00

My pre-interview interview was almost entirely not like Hysteric Blue's video for "Grow Up."

I say it that way so you can look for it on TEH GOOGLE and prolly find it, vs. if I link to a specific Youtube instance, it will 1. be of poor quality and/or 2. have gotten pulled for copyright violations. I should really do it that way from now on, if I did it the wrong way in the past.

I also mention that video because it's one of the ones I yanked from Jack's phone when he wanted a copy of the video I took of C trying Kinect DDP* [I said I would copy everything as a joke but he said it was cool to copy the videos].

[[They were both pretty awful as far as videos go IMHO, but I'm also ridiculously picky about videos and hate pretty much all of them--even professionally-made, 100% original content videos.]]

[[[FTR, a "good" live-action video is more like AvB feat. Nadia Ali, "Feels So Good" [which I link only because it's his official channel and is likely to stay there]--it has not only a complete visual story but is pretty easy to follow even without the music playing, which is a strong strike against things like movie trailers and mash-ups that throw scenes together seemingly at random]]]

[[[[and I like the song, vs. not actually liking "Grow Up" that much]]]]

* "Does that even work?"
"NO"

ANYWAY point being the place where I went today was pretty much exactly like the financial advisory places except specifically sales/marketing/managing and halfway between here and Casey's new house [which pretty much makes it twice as awful]. I ended up treating it exactly like if I was in a game and was trying to convince them to give me the job I had absolutely no qualifications to do [though, that's who they interview in the first place, I think], with the appropriate responses. I didn't even bother to check my phone for the promised [lack of] callback ~4, 'cause I didn't expect to accept a follow-up in the odd event they were THAT desperate for new people.

About all I regretted was, though I was promised an interview with "B" over the phone, I ended up with "S"--not really a problem as such, but what I saw of B, he looked exactly like Tiësto, and I wanted to see a little more to tell how close the resemblance was. [Though Tiësto always reminds me of Bryan Hancock, one of the Fairfax locals.]

S looked more like Aaron Pierce. Except not, but that's the closest person I can think of at the moment.

I also thought I saw Helper [from Caketown] there, but the girl just happened to look A DAMN LOT like Helper... down to the nose stud =p weeeeeeeird...

Anyway DOUGHNUTS

peoples, blah, games, ihatework, videoy, snobby
