4114.41: Chasing the Dragon

Ahahaha, Chinese New Year snuck up on me... funny that I finished The Path of the Dragon the night before the Year of the Dragon =p [or, I guess, finished ON if going by time zones in China]

Which reminds me of Spike's Tweets on the subject: # Wait, it's the Year of the Dragon? Oh man this is my last chance to conceive a super-cool baby before my ovaries dry up. :V

# "This is my son/daughter, Atomic/Fury. Born in the Year of the Dragon. Rode out on the broken waters on a boogie board. Suck it, haters."

# "Doctor tried to cut their umbilical cord, they sighed all annoyed and kickflipped away on the longboard in my afterbirth. True story."
I suppose that might matter to me if I had more of my grandparents in me, but I learned quite well that planning to do things around a specific date rather than choosing a date for convenience is all kinds of awful without SIGNIFICANT planning.

I'm also not a mother Dragon trying to have a baby Dragon. I mean, the Chinese Zodiac [Shēngxiào/生肖] is interesting and all, but it feels WAY too broad-reaching to be even close to accurate. Am I really that identical to the majority of my classmates on the basis that most of us were born in the same year? Though still bunk, the astrological zodiac [the one that got reassigned to thirteen signs] seems like a better bet if you're going to put THAT much stock in superstition and all that hokey.

Anyway, being a Dragon makes it sound like higher standards to live up to = PARENTAL PRESSURE ¬_¬; "You're a DRAGON! Why haven't you cured cancer yet??!" =p Gah, I could NOT be my grandparents... luckily, my mother couldn't, either, but I'd personally have no problem with a Boar or Rabbit baby, if any ^_^ [although "none" is pretty good, too--given my diminishing preparedness for parenthood as it is]

Just thought I'd mention all that since I'm waiting for C to finish up in the bath as it is. Not that I'm that dirty, but a hot shower is helpful for unwinding in this frigid winter =p

internety, quote-lololol, nobabies, psychologically
