3159: Should I Stay or Should I Go?
I've been given more and more [but all still trivial] incentive to try to make it back to AC this year, not the least reason being I realize the last actual VACATION vacation I've taken since...? was our trip to Japan in 2006. Beyond that, any "vacation" time has been my being unemployed =p I think even my last trip up to AC in 2004 was during a weekend when I wasn't scheduled to work ANYWAY and doesn't exactly count as vacation in the "taking time off of work" sense.
Granted, this year's 4th of July weekend, so it would still count as not-vacation vacation time. No wonder I feel grumpy, tho T_T if my vacations are crammed into the same time that most people spend just catching up on sleep.
I know I prefer thinking stuff like this out well in advance, but I don't have much longer to make my decide, and even if I do go, it'd end up being another one-day thing and I'd sleep in my car somewhere [rest stop, parking garage somewhere vaguely near the convention center]. In a way, I want to do it, but my having had to drive the whole way down to TN and back for Annaleise's wedding because C hates driving my car gives me reason to pause. [That, and getting lost in Jersey the last time I did it solo.]
...only half as long to get there as to TN, but still not looking forward to making the journey =/ especially since it says it's somehow just as far to get there from Waynesboro as from G-burg? Adebuh? Someone push me off the fence one way or the other, peas T_T
[I'm not interested in sharing a ride/hotel room, incidentally--I just don't feel like making it into a five-day deal and asking for the time off so late, plus it's a lot of the reason I only went one day last time, despite issues cropping up then as well. I'm pretty used to sleeping in my car now anyway ¬_¬;]
I think there are tenative casual plans to have people drop by this weekend, so any locals please do =3
