3144: A Jagged Gorgeous Winter
Love the song, pretty much certain I was just going to squander it as a subject line for some kind of winter photo thing if I used it "properly" =p ...so I took advantage of the fact that the midterms took place in winter, and YAY TOPICAL
[then I remembered how much time must've passed to get to where the comic is now... oh, well]
Warning: It's pretty awful. I don't mean in the "oh, my art is crap and ugly" manner, either--it's set pretty much at the current comic, after some pretty awful things have happened to the main character, so it's not just me here ^^; ...and I just realized I forgot about the jerboa's ear, whoops =p
Though I sacrificed game time today for a number of reasons, I did try C's joystick with Lode Runner yesterday to (in?)validate my complaints about the 360 control pad. The main problem is, superior though it may be, it's a bit like switching to a Dvorak keyboard after thriving on Qwerty [not that I really do]. The secondary problem is, as with most games, LR doesn't have a proper button configuration option, because *gasp!* who would want to use a nonstandard controller with the game?! Really: "shoot left" and "shoot right" may ONLY be assigned to A and B or X and A [both respectively], which is awkward on a joystick since B is straight above A, X is WAY diagonally up-right from A, and the two optimal buttons--LT and RT--are assigned but don't respond for what reason.
So I'm stuck with my having learned the hard way... par for the course, I suppose, since it's how I learned to ink [with cheap but precise pens] and never really got the hang of brush pens. Also, I just got fidgety having to keep the joystick level in my lap vs. being able to scoot around a bit with a pad. I'm screwed all around!
There was my other big concern about moving into this house. I've squished my third ant TODAY, just of what was crawling around ON MY COMPUTER. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, necessarily, but there seems to be a much more persistent insect problem here vs. in any of our apartments [even when Nag left half-assedly-covered fresh brownies out during our most major ant infestation]. I don't know what the solution is, all things considered: These ants are small enough to get through the screen doors/windows we leave open to cool the house. All I know is I hate them X/
