2946: School Days

Writing about high school is like invoking a tetragrammaton of bad feelings =( --which may be the idea, come to think of it! It occurred to me that I read something like Peach Girl/Papillon, and all this drama washes over me, even though it's nothing like what I've experienced and at the end of the day I don't actually have any problems to resolve ( Read more... )

I was always an easy target, but they never suspected quiet little me could snap. My only real friends were considerably older, younger, or nomadic, and I was too shy to 'fess up to crushes even though it was still unlikely they'd be remotely attracted to me.

Forums! My bane =( I barely keep up with one at a time as it is--there are all these other things I feel I should be doing instead... ¬_¬

But you'd FIT RIGHT IN to our group! Ranting and raving about various Neopets stuff, miscellaneous fun things (like Werewolf), and I just keep thinking that your personality fits perfectly with the core of our group. And there really isn't a whole lot to keep up with. We're active but not crazy hours to read every day. :-) A LOT of my LJ friends are from there.

High school was a brilliant time full of hope and optimism where I met the best friends of my life.

That one sentence about covers it.

High School was a four-year ordeal where, with a few notable exceptions, i wasn't challenged by anything academic, and many things social. It was better than the three years before, since I had gone from not comprehending a lot of the rules of the various social games to deciding that i just didn't care to play many of them.

I'm inclined to believe that school up until college is easier when ignoring social cues. Then again, learning social cues after college is an uphill battle...
