2934.2: Vulnerable (feat. Bad Apples)

The carrier left my comic in front of the door again. [insert grumbling noises] I no longer feel bad about having never left a tip at Christmas time... but is that a self-fulfilling prophecy, to look stingy to the carrier(s) as a response to[/to guarantee I get] bad service? Granted, what's the difference, fundamentally, between leaving and not leaving a tip once out of the year? I do tip every time at restaurants, but I also know who's serving me there, vs. the four or five or however many regular carriers who may or may not be the one fucker who doesn't respect my expensive shit I no longer mail order as a result--I don't know which one(s) would get any tip I might leave.

Out of the blue, I thought of a roadkill deer I had seen on the side of the road [years ago]. It wasn't particularly noteworthy, except that its buttcheeks had been completely eaten/sawed off?/removed in a particularly visible fashion. It was a bit funny at the time, but on reflection, I don't quite see how it would be unless a person had done it--which is possible, since the removal was fairly clean.

That's a curiosity of humans: We Americans, at least, have these incredible hang-ups about sex and nudity, so things like literally kicking someone's butt is humourous [in low-brow way] compared to, say, kicking someone in the ankle. So for an animal with no notion of what a hang-up even is, perhaps eating the butt--and only the butt--is naturally desirable, because it's more tender or whatever. Animals don't have any qualms about eating parts that most humans gag at the notion of eating: Camels will even chew on the bones of their deceased relatives.

Once in a while, I'll catch animals in comics making human analogies: today's "Buckles" has Arden comparing two types of birdseed to filet mignon and hamburger. How would he know the difference?? I do try to avoid similar people-izing of animals/aliens/non-humans--only a part of why I take so long/constantly rewrite my stories--even if it comes across as overthinking the subject. I'd rather demonstrate that I've put thought into something, rather than give the MythBusters more material 9_9

*doesn't want to do anything* Weekend, take me away! =(
