Today's "Watch Your Head":
I find this of interest to note not for the political aspect, but it's a Driving Don't to put an "enemy" behind you. This was one of the main things that bubbles up from the depths of my fading Driver's Ed lessons--if there's ever a threat of someone maybe hitting you, the best place to be is behind that threat, because you can always fall back and let the threat get well out of your reach.
If you're in front, that puts you right in the threat's targeting area.
I've known people who--by their accounts--have completely failed to learn this basic concept: "Position" means nothing on the road. Not getting killed by your "fellow" drivers is everything. Yet at the end of the day, that advancement of an extra car length is somehow worth all the risk... no, I don't get it, either. [Something my father told me: "You're never in such a hurry that getting in an accident will get you there faster."]
...games? Um, I guess we played a few yesterday. Chris [
maximx] came over to practice Gradius Gaiden with Chars, and after a bit, he decided I couldn't be left alone to read
the book Mum gave me and pulled me into playing some board games with them.
Something like:
- T2R: me [barely, thanks to European Express]
- Race: Chris, Chars [1 loss by Chris didn't realize he'd filled his tableau, 2 loss by like 2 points]
- Fluxx: Chars, Chars [oh, that Rotate Hands card...]
- Cookies: Chris [though eating cookies before a buffet dinner, not a good idea?]
- Cici's: tie...?
So.
Incidentally, I've been meaning to link
this, but I don't have a larger-arching post to center around it--beyond WOO LEFTIES =p and WOO LINK is more Twitter material 9_9
