I've asked Char to do the above [though not literally "go-go"] so as to get me into a better habit. I feel like crap at the moment, though.
When Fawx mentioned that he was making a board game, I immediately had a game spring fully-formed into mind. Granted, the concept is so nebulous* as to functionally be a mess, but I have every relevant aspect of the game worked out. The main problem is 1. making it into a proper board [or even computer] game and 2. balancing it.
*seems to be the word of the month for me, here
The problem I see is the random element, which separates a game from becoming chess, basically. Blokus seems to have that problem in its uniformity--I haven't had as much trouble as would seem laying all my tiles with the smallest piece last [as Char has also done], and I equate that to the rigidness of its design: everyone has exactly the same pieces, none of which are secret information, and the only random element is which pieces everyone else will play in what order and where. Players who have analyzed the game thoroughly and who cooperate towards that goal can each place every piece on the board without qualm, for a four-way tie.
My game--which I'll tell you right now is based off a concept in Piers Anthony's Xanth--has a rather overwhelming random element to it even though I don't intend to have any information secret. It may work out that I'll have to build secret information into it [card hands], otherwise anyone good at doing math in their heads will have an advantage over everyone else, though even that would only be in terms of scorekeeping and saying, "Well, I could use this, but it's not going to be worth it if someone bids exactly one point more." It's also set up to where a player may potentially have zero score [not bid on anything] yet win because an enthusiastic player might bid on everything only to end up with a massively negative score.
It seems like a fun concept to win without actually playing, however boring in practice, but there's clearly a flaw if that's going to happen.Make the following sentence true by filling in the blank:

Now that I'm awake, I realize I didn't entirely lose last night. I chanced through Uni's Clothing on Neojank and got Zafara Agent Gloves on the cheap, reselling for 100k ^^ which keeps me away from temptation to spend hours playing the Flash games* for the same gain =p even if I wouldn't have minded keeping those, now that I have some wealth amassed.
*actually Shockwave games, the same way you wouldn't call a JPEG a Photoshop image, but that's what they call them on the site
