3608: Congratulations, I Hate You

Sep 04, 2010 01:30

So, the temp agency sneak-attacked me today with a goodie bag congratulating me for getting a permanent position. It was rather weird because I still have that awkward impression from PHB [who HR tells me is not, in fact, anyone's boss--pointy hair or no--but the name's stuck at this point] that they did not genuinely care about my getting the post ( Read more... )

Not gonna bother editing the post, but to add to the subject line, I found an old schoolmate on Facebook recently posted a link to an anti-gay "sanctity of marriage" missive or other. At first, since it was linked without comment, I had the impression of, "lol u guyz this is dum!!1" After reading the responses, I realized said schoolmate BELIEVED it.

It's sort of a shock, really, that epiphany of "Just because I know someone doesn't mean I KNOW that person." Obviously, simply knowing someone doesn't equate to sharing ideologies--not even close friends.

Ugh, though. I guess I can't not talk to that person more than I already do. Luckily I was lazy and didn't bother sending requests to EVERYONE IN TEH WURLD just because I met them once. It'd be nice if my more open-minded friends would stop replying to/debating with that person, however, so I'd stop seeing that link.

If he isn't a boss, then he is a pointy-haired boy, so the initials still work.

You've already made how you feel about being a parent pretty clear - but I don't see why you wouldn't be a wantable mother. ^_^

Without going into too many of the personal elements, I already have too many things on my plate as it is to take another full-time job on top of it =/

I'd be a negligent mother, if anything. (MAYBE being a surrogate might be okay, but how about we get the pre-existing kids managed first...)
