Signal : Noise
I wish I'd gotten this cover though, but they didn't have it....
Went down to Kinokuniya on Friday to pick up a couple of books I'd asked to be reserved: Coraline, The Graveyard Book and Signal To Noise (whose title has captivated my imagination for many years now). Now I'm just wondering if I should also get Fragile Things and Smoke And Mirrors.... :P Also, I'm quite keen on Frank Miller's Sin City series but there are so many volumes that I think it'd blow a big hole in my wallet....
I met hypodermically for dinner on Thursday at this Ipoh Hor Fun place near her office. But the highlight must certainly be the durian dessert place that she brought me to. Oh heavennnnnn...! :)
Saturday was spent having the nicest home-cooked wanton mee at takglam's place. I'm still in awe at how she single-handedly churned out all those dishes, running her kitchen with the professional hand of a chef. She reminded me a lot of Catherine-Zeta Jones in No Reservations, hahahaha. Why this girl is still single is still beyond my comprehension. Oh well, not long more till 2013.... ;)
Met up today with Stefen, juicypout, cheshirefeline and smackeral, not all at the same time though. First was breakfast with Stefen, who was back in town for a while. Then it was off to the Zouk Flea Market with juicypout. It was really packed full, and I saw Jade Seah, Apple Hong, and Chen Hanwei there. Nothing much of interest was on sale though. I ended off the evening with cheshirefeline and smackeral. It was so good to see you guys again after so long. :) We had dinner at Red Dot, where cheshirefeline introduced me to this strange-looking spirulina green beer. It wasn't half bad though!
In other news, I can never seem to get away from the business of pilot recruitment. Guess where I'm attached to now? Yep.
