Well, Music Millennium is looking promising. I don't want to jinx it, but they're hiring for a possible two positions, and I already put in an application (complete with resume) AND went back in for the follow-up that really gets you in the manager's eye because almost no one actually does it. Talked to the assistant manager today and he said he'd "take note of my name" and give me a call. ::crosses fingers:: If I could work at Music Millennium, I'd pee my pants with happiness. My whole life would revolve around music for a while, and that is more than ok. Besides, it's a neat store. It's a place I wouldn't mind spending eight hours a day, y'know? That's one of the things that bugs me most about work - if I'm gonna spend a third of every day somewhere, I want it to be a place I like.

In other news... yesterday morning I thought my apartment was doin' dandy, on the road to recovery. Then I moved two things and suddenly the place was in shambles again and I was exhausted (the two things I moved were a packed-fulla-papers filing cabinet and my couch, piled full of stuff, then moved the couch back where it was) and everything sucked.

Then, my mommy came over and fixed it. Before, I was really REALLY wondering how I'd manage to fit everything onto the shelves I have coming, because it looked like SO MUCH STUFF. Then, somehow, my mom made it managable. I don't know what she did. She didn't even throw very much stuff away or take much with her. She also bought me a new vacuum and a CD/DVD rack, which I'm gonna set up when I get home and FINALLY vacuum my carpet. It's needed it for MONTHS.

So, my mom rocks, and I love her. I feel bad for not doing it myself, but it got to the point where I'd been through all this crap eight dozen times, moved it around in eight dozen different ways and I couldn't see a way for it to get any better. It really did just need a fresh pair of eyes, as she put it, to just go in and clean.

In other, other news, I really really love the cabinet I bought. One side is an homage to Yellow Submarine, and I painted it blue/green, and Sophia put the sun up at the top (lifted from the movie). I painted one of the apples and a submarine, of which I am very proud. I spent two hours yesterday putting together the puzzle Sophia gave me (and actually, I think I could be really good at puzzles from that experience and I want more. I think I might have a hobby in the making) and glued parts of that to the cabinet as well. When I get home, I'm gonna paint a few more things - lyrics to All You Need Is Love, the bassline (on a staff and such) for Yellow Submarine, and Glove and Jeremy, whom I could not get out of the puzzle without sacrificing someone else who was harder to paint. It's SO awesome.

The doors are a bit more abstract and just weird Aaron's brain paint doodles, but I love them anyway. I'm gonna do some more on those as well, maybe. Or maybe I'll just save it for the shelves I still have coming.

Anyway. Buy me puzzles and music for my birthday.
