Odds and Ends
Greetings once more, my avid fans! I've decided to make my lj entries shorter now because I usually post like a billion images at once and that's just not cool. So this is my first relatively short entry. Go me! Today's post is basically the best of my last two sketchbooks. I go through these books way too fast, probably at a rate of one a month. This post includes OC drawings, Paris in the snow, and monkeys at Perth Zoo.
Sorry that the LJ-cut appears twice. I have no idea why it did that or how to fix it. LJ is doing something new and strange every time I post.
First, an OC drawing I did over the weekend. My cintiq only supports 16-bit colours so every drawing I do looks different on my tablet and monitor. So I recoloured it in purples and pinks and used it for a v-day picture.
Okay, this next picture needs an explanation. Love Actually was on TV so I drew that little British kid.
We went to the zoo again. I love Emperor Tamarins' moustaches.
That drawing to the left and below the words "om nom nom" is really what this other monkey looked like. We laughed at it for ages. It was eating fruit and om nom nomming.
All that orangutan needed was a beer in his hand. He made do with leaves.
April and Tanzen. I don't think I've introduced them properly. Anyway they are more of my OCs. April is a german student who transfers to Tanzen's school. I'm not sure why he has the German name... perhaps for puns. Yes, mainly for puns. These scribbles explain their relationship perfectly. She hates him and he adores her (platonically?)
She wears a deep-sea-diving helmet because she is agoraphobic and probably OCD too. She acts normal for most of the time though.
April is terrified of the prospect of dating Tanzen, imagining them as one of those annoying lovey-dovey couples.
I looooove trenchcoats. And I want red pants. Like Thom Yorke's. Oh yeah by the way these are just my good ol' mafia comic characters. Chianti runs with knives. Pete has bad circulation.
Nick is my favourite of all my OCs just because he's such an insufferable grouch. He smiles once in the comic. At the very end.
I can't wait for this part of the comic. I hate drawing slow scenes! I want to fast forward to the good bits!! Aargh
Red Riding Hood and Wolf... just some ideas. I drew several versions of them but I like these guys just cause they're a pretty cute couple. Turtleneck love!
