I wrote 704 words for my PL story yesterday. Although I haven't been regularly writing for the story everyday. I currently have 2,213 words total and I'm hoping to get to 5K total by the end of the week (but I'm sure that's too ambitious :p). We'll see... the story is going well other than that.

I started writing Mordred into the story, so that's exciting. I've been wondering who to dreamcast as this one OC but no one comes easily to mind. :( Throwing it out here (I feel like I need to see more TV and/or movies)...a blond man in his late twenties/early thirties who is devastatingly handsome, and looks like he could get anything he wants. I swear he's not a Gary Stu/Mary Sue. :p

He has a magical talent that helps in making him so self-assured. But he also has a young son who he's raising on his own and the son is the most important thing in the world to him. I sort of imagine the man as slender, not too muscular, and he has green eyes (but eye color is always tricky...as long as they're not a dark brown :p). I just feel doubtful I could think of an actor who would work for this. Maybe a Google image search will yield something, but I'm not too optimistic. :(

Sorry for all this! It's just been bugging me that no one's coming to mind and I feel like I should leave it alone, but a small part of me still wants to dreamcast someone. Traitorous mind. lol!

Wahoo! You are on a roll. Go go go!

What about Jack Fox? If dreamcasting helps you write, no harm in that!

Yeah, I'm feeling optimistic overall about this story. I'm taking ideas from some of my more recent stories and mixing them together, so that's kind of fun. It's like a tribute to some of my past stories I'm fond of? IDEK. :p

Oh awesome! Thanks for helping me out. I looked Jack Fox up to see how he looked, and he's perfect for the role. I noticed he was on Privates too, so that's how you knew about him I expect. ;)

I haven't seen Privates yet...I should get on that at some point (now that Downton Abbey has finished airing for the season...need something to get my mind off that final episode *sobs*).

Wow, what an awesome idea! Yay for fun:D

:) *points to icon* Yep, I know Jack Fox from Privates. You should totally watch it and then start writing fic for it. It's such a small fandom. At the moment there are only three fics on AO3 for it.

I think I won't watch the last ep. I heard what happened and it pissed me off.

I was also going to say weird as well as fun. Maybe it's more name recycling than anything. If the name works, don't break it. :p I have certain names I like (usually based off other fictional characters I enjoy) and use them for my OCs. It's a tried and true system, lol.

I'll have to get on that then. I know about small fandoms... there's a rather small fandom for a book series I adore (The Dark is Rising Sequence by Susan Cooper), but considering the books were written back in the 1970s, it's understandable. I'm grateful there's a decent collection of fics for the fandom...nice to know there's an online fandom for it no matter how obscure it is compared to the mammoth book series fandoms like Harry Potter. :p

I wonder if there are more fics for Privates at FFN? Then again, FFN is a bit of a hit and miss place for quality fics.

I watched the finale because I'm invested in the show even if I knew beforehand about the finale death. It so shouldn't have been called the Christmas Special with an ending like that! Glad I didn't watch it at Christmastime because it would have left me teary-eyed the whole rest of the holiday. Although there were some happy moments in the special even if the tragic ending almost messed all that up.

I loved The Dark Is Rising books when I was younger, but I tried reading the first one again a couple years ago and could not get into it:(

I can't look at anything on ff.net. I post some of my fics there, but clearly not all of them.

*shakes fist at British tv*

By the first one, do you mean "Over Sea, Under Stone" as that's the first book chronologically? Usually people start out with The Dark is Rising book, which is the book I had to read in grade school and then I read the other books after that. I do admit if I had to reread the series, I'd skip "Over Sea, Under Stone." I haven't reread the whole series in a while...I did reread The Grey King a few years ago and I have TDiR, The Grey King and Silver on the Tree on my Kindle. I like Greenwitch too simply because it offers an interesting look at how the Drews see Will. The Grey King remains my favorite book because of the friendship between Will and Bran (and made me wish the whole series was centered around them...shame Bran was only just introduced in the penultimate book :().

Right now I just read (or more like reread) TDiR fics -- particularly love the ones set in the future that attempt to fix the bittersweet ending. And I lean toward Will/Bran (because it's too easy :p)...of course when they're older as they're still just children at the end of the series. There are even a few epic long fics which is pretty nice. :) I understand falling out of love with a series though... I kind of was let down by the Harry Potter series, but the author can't please everyone unfortunately.

FFN can be a scary place, omg. I've been posting some of my fics there since high school. oO I still post there every so often, but I've been lax about updating over there. This HP/Merlin crossover I started writing a few years ago is rather popular over on FFN...although I haven't posted it over at AO3, so who knows what'll happen if I do that. The story's a WIP though so I feel like I should finish it before posting it on AO3 (it's kind of languishing on FFN, looking rather abandoned :(). I guess with AO3 getting a lot of traffic now, it's a better alternative. ;)

No, I actually mean TDiR.

I was never a HUGE fan of HP. I mean, I read the books, I thought they were ok, but I didn't get the hype.

The whole split between AO3/ff.net is interesting. I pretty much like everything about AO3 better except that you can't PM anyone on AO3.

Thank you! I could use all the suggestions I can get. Now I'm torn -- I like both choices. Daniel Sharman looks like another great candidate for the role. :)

I saw he was in The Immortals (saw that recently out of curiosity and I'm just glad I borrowed it from the library and didn't have to pay for it). I don't really remember him...although for most of the movie, I was thinking, "omg, what is this even. Well at least John Hurt is here...making me miss Merlin even more as I keep seeing the Great Dragon whenever he speaks."

I don't watch Teen Wolf (or at least haven't started watching it yet) so I'm not familiar with Sharman's role there. A reason to check out another show now, lol. ;)

Oh no. Don't get sucked into TW! Stay firm. Avoid it. *nods head* I haven't watched any of it. I'm staying far away.

I keep hearing how addictive it is all over my FList. My friend recommended I watch it (to cope after Merlin ending), but I don't have cable so I can't watch it on TV. I know I could find a way to watch it online. For now, yeah, maybe I should wait. Still need more time to mourn the loss of "Merlin." I'm a bit more interested in working on my PL story at the moment either way.

MTV has it on their website, I'm pretty sure. I'm just not interested. I'm still pretty invested in Merlin, even if the fuckers did break my heart. (Hope the swearing doesn't offend you. Sometimes it is just necessary.)
