Well, that put a wrench in my plans

I picked up DD2 from school and discovered that she felt quite hot.  Took her home, set her up on the couch.  The poor thing has a fever.  I'm wondering if it's a virus or strep.  I'm hoping for virus in some ways.  Anyhow, she seems chipper when she's awake, so I'm not super worried at the moment.  It's been a while since I had a sick kid at home

Nope. I should have taken her to a quick clinic, but that idea did not occur to me until 15 minutes before the clinic closed and well, they don't take new patients by then. Grrr. We'll see what things look like in the morning.

LOL. I was wondering about that, if anyone would misconstrue what I was getting at.

Fever is down, but she is telling me her throat hurts (still). I'm taking her in to the pediatrician in a few hours (first appointment).

No ice cream in the house:( I could make her some tea with honey. She's not really complaining about the sore throat.

Yeah. I was kind of hoping for strep so it would be an easy solution, but of course a virus is better. Maybe I should give her Sleepytime with honey so she would nap and I could get an hour of quiet:) She's yapping away..

How often do I get abx here? Well, I don't go tell my doctor that I need them. I beg them not to give them to me/us, but occasionally I take them. I think the kids have each taken them twice in their lives. I'm rather anti-meds unless absolutely necessary, but I know I don't represent mainstream thought.

LOL. NO! Will not buy ice cream. Or even make it. She's happy with the matzoh ball soup:D

Well, if it were strep, she'd be on meds and be feeling better quickly.

Yep. I think antibiotics have been completely overused. I think doctors don't take it seriously enough.

I know. I'm a sucky mom. I won't buy ice cream and I can't make it right now because my freezer containers are not frozen.

Matzoh ball soup is chicken broth with dumplings made out of matzoh meal. The Jewish mom's answer to illness:D

Heh. Have fun with the debate. I heard people making it into a drinking game. I can't watch or listen to these things. They drive me crazy.
