Two quickies I overheard on the radio
1. Denial is a powerful thing force. (I am so going to write a fic with that as the title. Would love to see what others do with this concept too. Posting it on writingcafe on Friday too, just so you are forewarned:)) (Overheard on this Diane Rehm show.) (Show is about protecting and helping kids recover from sexual abuse. Will hit triggers if you listen to it, most likely.)
2. Yesterday I heard this bit about animals overgrooming when they were isolated, stressed, and bored. OMG. I can't believe I didn't start cutting myself years ago. No wonder I was so depressed. (Ok, so freaky. It's currently on The Diane Rehm Show now.) castmeaway you might want to listen at about 20 minutes in.
3. Oh, there was a show about social media and I heard like two seconds of it, but someone was saying how great FB was and how easy it was to share info on FB. I, personally, hate FB. I don't trust them. I have quit using it for the most part. I might remember to check it once a day. I am in love with LJ/DW, but I use it for very different things than I would use FB for. I suppose there might be some overlap in terms of me wanting to chat about stuff, but well, I dunno. Chat amongst yourselves. I'm curious to hear what people like about the social media they use. LJ/DW is the only platform I really like.
4. Not something I heard on the radio, but I recently paid DW for an account (finally) and now I have icon space over here. I went to upload icons that I have, but I have no idea where they came from, so now I'm in the market for new icons for my DW account. I would love one that signifies "crack" since I apparently have a penchant for writing it from time to time.
