Profound and mundane

Yesterday I found out that Katie Allison Granju's oldest son died.  He was 18 and had had a drug problem, then he overdosed and got beat up too.  I didn't know Katie or her son, but his death has hit me hard.  Granju is well known in attachment parenting circles.  I know people who know her.  I feel like this could happen to anyone I know.  I told my kids today if they ever want to do drugs to come talk to me or their dad first.   *sobs*

On a much more mundane note: I seem to have lost one of the kids' dvds from the library.  Where, oh where, would you hide a dvd?  We've "lost" books before, but they travel all over the house.  DVDs stay in the office with the computer because you can't do anything with them if they aren't in the dvd player.  While this is stressing me out, I'm so glad this is my biggest problem today.  *sobs some more*

ETA: found the dvd.  It was at the library.  Apparently it hadn't really gotten checked back in.  Shew.
