I just got back from the Braille conference Sunday night around midnight. It was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the tactile graphics (using Adobe Illustrator) session as well as the Braille history session. The other workshops were also very helpful and enlightening. I've been wanting to improve the consistency of my CW so I can spend less time worry about technique and more time thinking about what to say, so I started a new form of practice. I listen to a track from my Moby Dick CD in Morse code and I send along with it at the same time. I'm starting with the 20 wpm chapters and plan to work my way up to 30 ( Read more... )

Today on my way to work, I saw a bus that was shorter than usual and rather boxy looking. Suddenly, in my mind's eye, I saw it as a big Icom 718. But, Megan, a transceiver and a bus are not related at all! My mind somehow thought the proportions matched quite exactly, though ( Read more... )
