An observation on two people named Joseph in the New Testament.
Joseph, the foster-father of our Lord Jesus, took Mary to be his wife (Matthew 1:24-25) and cared for her and the baby Jesus. Jesus was wrapped in cloths and laid in a manger in Bethlehem (Luke 2:7).
Joseph, a disciple of the Lord Jesus, took the body of our Lord after his crucifixion and wrapped his body in spices and linen cloth and laid him in a tomb (John 19:38-42).
It strikes me that a person by the same name was there to tenderly care for and wrap our Lord's body. It also seems interesting that Joseph in the Old Testament is the one who was wrapped in a glorious robe by his father who loved him (Genesis 37:3).
