Many go to and fro and knowledge increases
I went to the National Museum of American History today. I was darting about the exhibits in my Braille shirt and Capitals sweatshirt, camera and notebook in hand.
Many go to and fro!
Above all, I came to see how much American infrastructure and technology has been advancing since the beginning of the 19th Century. Just consider how different life was during the Civil War (1860's) compared to World War I (1910's). In the Civil War, they communicated via telegraph wires, while in WWI, they used wireless radio and telephone. In the Civil War, the early iron-clad boats fought in a waterway off the Chesapeake, while in WWI, Titanic's sister (Olympic) served as a troopship in dazzle camouflage while submarines hunted for her. In the Civil War, we had candles and oil lights, but by WWI electricity was beginning to spread across the US. In the 1700's, there were no railroads, but by the early 1900's, railroads, canals, ships, and personal automobiles were all present across the nation. The airline industry and space exploration followed not long after.

And just as soon as I got home from the museum, I found an email from my family with a link to this youtube clip that highlights the exponential growth of information over the past few decades.
